Buy Your Copper Capillary Fittings From Forge Plumbing

Capillary fittings have been used for many years by plumbers right around the country. While some plumbers have switched to using copper press, our copper capillary fittings are still popular and may be required in certain installations such as government and development jobs as well as other specific projects.

While compression pipe fittings can form a liquid-tight seal just by tightening the compression nut, a capillary fitting slots into or over the copper tube or pipe and then heat is applied to the fitting using a soldering iron and flux to create the same liquid-tight seal.

Why Is Copper The Preferred Material For Capillary Fittings?

Copper is extremely corrosion-resistant and is designed to last well for up to 50 years or more. Copper fittings are ideal for use with drinking water because they are lead-free.

The smooth internal surface ensures a good flow. Copper is also excellent for thermal conductivity which is why it’s often preferred for hot water systems by using both copper pipe and copper fittings.

Other advantages of copper are that it inhibits bacterial growth and is UV resistant.
